These crocheted cat headbands are simple to make, and they bring a touch of whimsy to any make-believe day. They also double as an easy to wear costume for co-op or classroom Halloween parties.

Supplies needed are:

  • Headband (15 inch long headband, 1 inch wide)
  • Worsted Weight Yarn
  • G-Hook
  • Tapestry Needle

Stitches Used

  • single crochet – sc
  • single crochet increase – scinc
  • chain – ch
  • slip stitch – slst
  • magic ring – tutorial link

Headband Instructions:

  1. 8 sc in Magic Ring 
  2. sc around for length of headband
  3. slst, fasten off. 
  4. Insert headband into sleeve
  5. Thread through and pull tight to close.
  6. Weave ends

Make 2

  1. 2 ch
  2. sc, ch turn
  3. scinc, ch turn
  4. 2 scinc, ch turn
  5. scinc, 2 sc, scinc, ch turn
  6. 6 sc, ch turn
  7. scinc, 4 sc, scinc, ch turn
  8. 8 sc, ch turn
  9. scinc, 6 sc, scinc, ch turn
  10. 10 sc, ch turn
  11. scinc, 8 sc, scinc, ch turn
  12. 12 sc, ch turn
  13. scinc, 10 sc, scinc, ch turn
  14. 14 sc, fasten off

Attach to the headband – sew on with a slight curve to the ears for a more realistic look!
