Me too, and that’s why I started Wild Widget Studio.

Life shouldn’t just be to-do lists and rushing from one task to the next. We need to be intentional about carving out time for joy and whimsy. Making does that for me. Whether I design something completely new or follow a creative path someone else laid out, I feel so good when I’m manipulating materials with my hands and turning them into something new.

And that can be a great gift with homeschooling, as well.

I’m Kathy, and I’m a multi-craftual maker mom with a passion for systems and spreadsheets. My grandmother provided the first spark as she let me be her little maker sidekick for most of my childhood, and the love of making has stuck with me my whole life. In my professional career as an engineer, I’ve achieved certifications in project management, process improvement, and technical writing. And in my crafting career, I’ve taught weaving and spinning, designed knit and crochet items for local events, and tech edited designs for others.

My homeschooling career began in 2023, and I’m delighted to share my journey with you.
